Prime-time comedy quiz show hosted by ventriloquist Edgar Bergen, ably assisted by his dummies Charlie McCarthy, Mortimer Snerd and Effie Klinker. It featured married couples who competed in a quiz segment. The husbands could choose to answer the questions or trust their wives. Tonight's show has a ventriloquist as a guest. Great fun.

1957-62. ABC. In 1957 the show moved to ABC in a daytime version with Johnny Carson as host. The name was changed to Who Do You Trust in 1958. Later that year Ed McMahon started his long association with Johnny Carson. Johnny antics had the house wives glued to their television sets. In 1962 Johnny and Ed left when The Tonight Show started. Complete with commercials. .
